About

Who are we?

Laudate Jesu Children of Kenya (LJCK), We believe in the uniqueness and talents of individuals; therefore, we encourage each other to utilize the gifts that we have while complimenting each other realizing the strength in diversity. Our approach to growth and development is based on the Ubuntu principles and human virtues. LJCK maintains the concept of unity; together we grow and develop for the common good; one can’t go it alone.  As Nelson Mandela put it. Ubuntu is a philosophical doctrine/approach to life that emphasizes social unity and generosity of spirit; a quality that includes the essential human virtues; compassion and humanity. Governed by the ubuntu principles, LJCK emulates the concept of “a person is a person through others” (Archbishop Desmond Tutu). LJCK strives to unite people in our villages creating peace in the spirit of Ubuntu.

What we do.

The program creates opportunities for individuals to identify projects that they are passionate about and helps them to locate resources for development. Laudate gives orphaned children and vulnerable individuals opportunity to:

  -education and health care services,

  -spiritual development

  -Hope and human dignity

-Teach individuals commitment, responsibility and reciprocity/mutuality

  -Recreate Ubuntu/unity

Village Educate Ripple Effect

Village Educate Ripple Effect (VERE) Model is practiced by Women Bead Group Project (WBGP) to motivate the youth, cultivate the charitable spirit and enhance responsibility among members. VERE requires commitment of every beneficiary of WBGP to take responsibility over the next person. There are currently twenty (20) vocational Laudate graduates benefiting other youths through vocational training. Vere educates individuals from grade school to vocational training. Once the alumnae fulfil the mandate of training another person, they maintain membership and loyalty by monthly/annual contribution to the program to benefit more children to keep the project growing. The purpose of VERE is to uphold and create a routine that will keep low the number of the youth idling and living on the streets. VERE is an avenue to reduce robbery and violence in the village and the town while creating sustainable projects that provide for a better living.
