The Bead Work project was the very first project dating back in 2006. The founder of the program returned home from the USA after 8 years, having spent four years working as a volunteer in a nursing home at Mt. Calvary then four years at Alverno College where she graduated with a BA in psychology. Along with studies she also volunteered for a children’s charitable organization for child sponsorship program for six (6) years. During the stay home, the founder had 4 women trained in bead work and bought them material to start off the project. Since then the four women have trained twenty-six more women who joined the group making a total of thirty women. Currently, the project has 54 children to provide education funding and medical needs. The program has 20 young men and women who have already benefited from the project and they in turn are giving back to the community
